Mission: New Eve Ministries is a Catholic, pro-life organization dedicated to providing a home for expectant mothers in a crisis pregnancy. Our home provides for mothers of any faith the opportunity to grow in self-respect and independence while celebrating the dignity of their motherhood. Through local partnerships, we provide our community with educational services and practical support to new and expectant mothers.
Fulfilling Our Mission
New Eve Ministries’ primary efforts at this time are focused on raising the funds to acquire and remodel a building in the Winchester, VA area appropriate for housing homeless, pregnant women and, ultimately, their babies. Recognizing the challenges of an effort such as this, the target date for completion is one or two years away.
New Eve Ministries is the only organization in the Shenandoah Valley currently planning to provide housing to women in a crises pregnancy needing a place to live. There is a great need in our area for these services.
Concurrently, work is underway to establish the standards of operation, procedures for day to day functions and, eventually, recruitment and training of personnel needed to run the home efficiently and effectively.
Work is beginning on additional program components that will be offered to residents including life skills, continuing education and employment proficiency. These include classes on the basic skills of caring for a baby, learning to cook, keeping a home, continuing education and applying for and keeping a job. This effort is directed at helping the mother live independently.
Your support is critical to the success of our mission.
Pray for New Eve Ministries’ efforts to help mothers in crisis pregnancies. We will always need prayer warriors to help us accomplish our goals.
Transitional Housing- New Eve Ministries is currently developing it's housing program. Our goal is to open a home just outside of Winchester and to offer housing for women who find themselves pregnant and homeless. Our home will be operated by a trained staff who will provide each women the opportunity to prepare for motherhood and search for employment and living arrangements. There are several programs in development that will assist mothers in preparing for single motherhood.
- Life Skills Program- The Life Skills Program will be designed to teach moms basic skills needed to care for herself and her baby. These classes will include cooking, cleaning, computer skills, spirituality, baby care and other topics that will help her live an independent life. These classes will be taught at least three times per week.
- Day Care- Day care will be provided from 8 AM until 6 PM Monday through Friday for working moms. This will be a service provided by New Eve Ministries.
- Transportation- Transportation will be provided on an as need basis for moms who have no means of getting to work or buying groceries and other needed materials.
- Continuing Education- Every mom who comes to New Eve Ministries for assistance will be evaluated to determine her needs, literacy level and personality type. At New Eve Ministries, we will help mothers to either complete their GED or take college classes.
Women staying at the Winchester home may stay for the duration of her pregnancy and up to a year after or more. Mothers will be encouraged to either attend school or work while staying in the home. Household chores such as cooking and cleaning will be shared by all mothers who are able to participate. It is the goal of New Eve Ministries to offer assistance to any woman who comes to us.
New Eve Ministries calls on the community to band together in support of mothers and families who are experiencing a pregnancy crisis. We reach out to those mothers who find themselves alone and with nobody there to support them. We reach out to families who are experiencing hardship and anxiety over finding out they are expecting a little one. Women in that position consider abortion out of fear and a sense of being overwhelmed. New Eve Ministries will offer support to any woman in a crisis pregnancy and will appreciate the participation of the entire community in making it possible to achieve that goal.
